Refugee Resettlement/ Pastoral Care Unit

The Refugee Resettlement/ Pastoral Care Unit provides resettlement services to refugees, asylees and victims of human trafficking.  These services include the provision of refugee cash assistance, enrollment in federal refugee benefit programs, job training and development, ESL classes and education and social service referrals.  The Refugee Resettlement Unit also conducts community outreach presentations and is instrumental in representing DMRS at the various refugee, asylee and human trafficking committees and task force meetings.  DMRS was one of the founders of the local Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce, and continues to be among the leaders in the effort to combat human trafficking in our community.  The Refugee Resettlement Unit is also responsible for spreading the message of compassion for immigrants and welcoming the stranger as the basic principle of Catholic social teaching as it relates to migration.
