Welcome to DMRS
Diocesan Migrant & Refugee Services, Inc. is a non-profit legal aid clinic providing free and low cost legal services to the indigent and low income members of the El Paso border community in need of assistance in immigrating to the United States. Through these legal services, DMRS, Inc. participates and furthers the ministry of the Roman Catholic Church in welcoming the stranger.
Services include legal representation in family-based immigration, including petitions for family sponsored immigrant visas and adjustment of status and representation of battered immigrant spouses and children, providing representation and preparation for each step of the naturalization process and representation before the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals and the federal court system for individuals who find themselves facing removal or deportation from the United States.
Although the primary focus of the organization is to provide quality legal services in the area of immigration law, D.M.R.S., Inc. leads the community in advocacy on behalf of the immigrant and ministers to the most defenseless of these: women, children, the elderly and disabled and those people who are in detention awaiting removal proceedings.
